San Juan in Menorca aboard a sailboat
We love the month of June. And especially the festival of San Juan in Menorca. And what’s better than doing so aboard a sailboat. ¿Can you think of a better place to celebrate the arrival of summer? The festivity of San Juan in Menorca is await us as every year. We will sail from Barcelona to the Island of the 5 lighthouses to enjoy its turquoise water inlets; and, of course, we will enter its famous festival of San Juan with the traditional horses activity (is ruckus). Base port: Port Olímpic (Barcelona)
Boarding: Thursday, June the 23rd, at 16: 00h
Disembark: Sunday, June the 26th on the Afternoon
Day 01 – Thursday 23/06
First of all, shipping and presentation of the entire crew, with an experienced skipper in the area. Safety breafing : lifejackets, lifelines, sealing, handling and government. Analysis of weather forecast for the upcoming days. Routing. Welcome drink on board. We will depart from Port Olimpic sailing in a fantastic sailboat of 4 double cabins to Menorca. Enjoy sailing, dolphin spotting and a spectacular sunset accompanied by the traditional coca de san Juan and a glass of cava. We will spend our first night on board.
Day 02 – Friday 24/06
Estimated arrival to Menorca at about noon. We will go to one of its inlets with clear water to give us a deserved dip to then take our lunch on board. Afterwards, with the boat anchored perfectly, we will disembark and head to the heart of the festivities in Ciutadella. Most noteworthy, we will find games with horses, the traditional drink of the island and a lot of fun. Overnight on board
Day 03 – Saturday 25/06
Gradually, and as the sun rays start penetrating on the cabins, we will take an invigorating dip to immediately take our breakfast in the cockpit of the sailboat. We will set bow to the Macarella inlet while enjoying a new day. We will drop anchor and, after spending a relaxing morning, we’ll descend to the ground to enjoy a delicious Mediterranean lunch in the Susy chiringuito (prebooked). In addition, after a short break we will take direction to Barcelona to continue enjoying sailing.
Day 04 – Sunday 26/06
Finally, arrival at Port Olimpic at about 17:00 approximately. Also farewell crew and group photo.
